Facebook has a new feature that lets users tag all the members in a Facebook group in one go.
A group is a community of like-minded individuals who share and work together. Find your group and start chatting with others about your chosen subject.
We all know that it is becoming more and more difficult to draw attention on social media and more often than not the algorithm is not helping.
Facebook has recently added a new feature to help you get the attention of everyone else in that group for one of your posts. All you have to do is tag @everyone in your post. Using that tag will then send a notification to everyone in the group that they have been "tagged"/"mentioned" by the poster.
You can also use @everyone when replying to comment.
Facebook says it is "perfect for group reminders, impromptu get-togethers or when you need to gather the braintrust to crowdsource an answer to a time-sensitive question. This way, your message gets maximum exposure, and nobody misses out."
However, this feature is to be used with caution because it can become annoying very quickly, not everybody takes it kindly to be "mentioned" regularly and especially for things they are not interested in.
Many people are now leaving groups because of this, we all have enough notifications to deal with on a regular basis without having to deal with being tagged right left and center.
Proceed with caution as you could also get removed from a group if you abuse this feature.
Group Admins if you do not want anyone to use this feature in your group make sure you add it in your rules.
